- Lecturer:
Bendix Carstensen,
Senior Statistician, Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, Gentofte, Denmark.
-
Slides, and handouts as
3-up,
10-up
- Lecture notes and practicals
These lecture notes contain a very condensed overview of survival
concepts. The exercises are intended for you to run in R and intended to
illustrate computational aspects of the lectures.
The practicals contained in the notes are primarily intended to
be done in R for which datasets are available.
- Computing: The practicals are intended to be completed
using R, but you may benefit from looking at the
computer of the person
next to you.
If you intend to use your own computer during the
practicals, you should have the latest version of R
(version 3.6.1) installed; also the package Epi (version
2.40).
You can get R by visiting the
CRAN website.
You can get RStudio by visiting
RStudio website.
You can install the Epi package from R or RStudio by clicking
Tools - Install packages, and folllow the instructions.
You can check your version of R and Epi by starting R and write:
library(Epi)
sessionInfo()
at the command prompt.
- R programs with solutions for practicals
Should you be interested in furthering your knowledge of R for
epidemiology, you may be interested in the course
Statistical Practice in
Epidemiology with R, in Tartu, Estonia, August 2020.
